Fall color is red on all except white flowering varieties. CULTURE - Easy, any soil. Add high phosphorus fertilizer to regular program to help flowers production. USES - Ornamental tree, summer color, fall color, beautiful bare branches in winter. PROBLEMS - Aphids, mildew, suckers at the ground. NOTES - Do not trim back in winter - old wives’ tale that it increases flower production - besides, the see pods are decorative. Native to China. |
